In an ugly affair, the Bruins earned a gritty win over their longtime rivals, the Canadiens, with a 2-1 victory at TD Garden Thursday night.

Milan Lucic put the B's up 2-0 early in the third period, following an early Jordan Caron score in the first.

Montreal's Shea Weber put the puck past goaltender Tim Thomas with 7:14 left in the third.

The Bruins face the Hurricanes Saturday night.
