The Hub Crawl 2/20: Celtics, Bruins fall

Playing without Kevin Garnett (personal reasons), the Celtics fell hard to the Pistons at the Palace of Auburn Hills Sunday night, 96-81.

Rajon Rondo (5 points, 10 assists), was ejected in the second half when he angrily tossed the ball at an official after a suspect call.

Paul Pierce led the Celtics with 18 points while Greg Monroe once again ate up the C’s inside with a 17-point, 10 rebound effort.

Bruins: Boston dropped its second straight game Sunday as it fell, 2-0, in Minnesota.

Chad Rau and Matt Cullen each tallied goals for the Wild.

Tim Thomas took the loss in net for the B’s.

Boston College: The Eagles jumped out to an early lead but Duke proved to be too powerful as BC lost to the Blue Devils, 75-50, Sunday at Conte Forum.

Austin Rivers, son of Celtics head coach Doc Rivers, had 12 of his 16 points in the first 20 minutes of the contest.

Seth Curry led Duke with 18 points.
