Thigh high: Vick expects to be ready

Is Michael Vick 100 percent? No. Vick says he’s around 75 percent right now, and coach Andy Reid seems to agree.

Is Michael Vick 100 percent? No. Vick says he’s around 75 percent right now, and coach Andy Reid seems to agree.

The bigger question: How will Vick be feeling in four days?

“I’ll be 100 percent by the time the game starts,” Vick said on his weekly ESPN radio show. “I’m thankful we have the training staff that we have. It’s a great opportunity to go out and compete.”

If that means a few cortisone shots between now and Sunday, so be it. The only chance the Eagles have of winning their wild-card playoff matchup against the Packers is with Vick at 100 percent.

When the two teams met in Week 1, Vick turned back the clock. He ran for 103 yards and threw for another 175, rallying the Eagles from a 13-3 halftime deficit and nearly pulling off the upset.

But, to hear the Packers tell it, that was an anomaly. They weren’t ready for Vick’s unique skill sets, since they had game-planned for Kevin Kolb. And that won’t be the case this week.

“When he got in, it was definitely a surprise,” Packers linebacker Desmond Bishop said. “It’s definitely going be better this time.”

And different for Vick, who will be making his first playoff start since the 2004 NFC championship game. Even if he’s not at full strength, the playmaker will be ready to roll.

“It’s the postseason,” Vick said. “You win or go home, and that should motivate everybody. So do your job, or if you don’t, you won’t be playing next week. There’s really nothing more to say.”
