Tonight's TV highlights: Remembering gay activist Vito Russo.

"Vito"

DOCUMENTARY. Vito Russo was a force, and not just as an author — "The Celluloid Closet,” his study on gay images in film, is a pioneering work — and outspoken gay rights activist, co-founding GLAAD (Gay & Lesbian Alliance Against Defamation) and ACT UP (AIDS Coalition to Unleash Power). This moving documentary chronicling Russo’s life also reveals an incredibly charismatic and caring man who lived what he believed, placing himself at the center of the gay rights movement right up to his death in 1990.

Premiere, 9 p.m., HBO

"Bachelor Pad"

Season premiere, 8 p.m., ABC

"I'm Having Their Baby"
