“Bunheads”

DRAMA. Amy Sherman-Palladino, creator of “Gilmore Girls,” does the small-town quaint ‘n quirky thing again with “Bunheads.” The seaside town of Paradise, Calif., is populated with eccentric fast-talkers who are adjusting to the new girl in town — a former Vegas showgirl (Sutton Foster) who impulsively marries a guy whose mother runs the local dance studio, where the newbie begins to bond with the young “bunhead” ballerinas who have aspirations of dancing professionally.

Series premiere, 9 p.m., ABC Family

“Hollywood Heights”

DRAMA. A girl (Brittany Underwood) wins a songwriting competition sponsored by a rock heartthrob (Cody Longo) in this teen soap opera based on a telenovela. But the most important thing you need to know is James Franco — yes, that James Franco — appears in a multi-episode arc as an eccentric movie mogul.

Series premiere, 9 p.m., Nick at Nite

“bethenny”

TALK. Bethenny Frankel parlays her reality TV fame (infamy?) into a chat show produced by Ellen DeGeneres. “It’s what girlfriends talk about to each other, but in hushed tones in restaurants. Now we’re talking about it on air,” Frankel told The Associated Press. So, it’s exactly like “Real Housewives”?

Series premiere, 11 a.m., Fox

“Teen Wolf”

DRAMA. Scott tries to keep Derek from creating new werewolves. Because some people these days would much prefer to be turned into a vampire.
