“American Masters: Inventing David Geffen”

DOCUMENTARY. An impresario of the music (Joni Mitchell, Guns N’ Roses), movie (“American Beauty,” “A Beautiful Mind”) and theater (“Cats,” “Dreamgirls”) worlds, David Geffen receives a tribute from famous friends and colleagues who love and yes, sometimes even loathe, the hardworking, arrogant man. As the story of a working-class Brooklyn kid who became an unparalleled entertainment mastermind unfolds, one thing becomes clear — everyone respects this guy.
