“The Neighbors”

COMEDY. A suburban couple picks up and moves the kids to a gated community in New Jersey. It’s such an exclusive community, in fact, all of the other residents turn out to be aliens from a distant planet. The cast — particularly Jami Gertz, Lenny Venito and Simon Templeman — play the ridiculous premise so earnestly, it just might work.

Series premiere, 9:30 p.m., ABC

“Key & Peele”

COMEDY. The comedy duo’s sketch star Luther, Obama’s Angry Translator, should have plenty to say this election season.

Season premiere, 10:30 p.m., Comedy Central

“Bitchin’ Kitchen”

REALITY. Host Nadia G brings her rock ‘n’ roll flair to the office lunches in the Season 3 premiere.

Season premiere, 10 p.m., Cooking Channel

“Criminal Minds”

DRAMA. Jeanne Tripplehorn joins the cast as the BAU’s newest member, linguistics specialist Alex Blake, in an episode that finds an escaped prisoner leaving a unique trademark on his victims that is reminiscent of a previous criminal.

Season premiere, 9 p.m., CBS
