“Whale Wars: Viking Shores”

REALITY. The Sea Shepherd Conservation Society turns their attention — and their eco-crusading ships — to the Faroe Islands, a Danish territory that is home to a brutal fishing tradition known as “The Grind,” an event in which residents herd pilot whales to shallow shores to be killed for meat.

Series premiere, Friday, 8 p.m., Animal Planet

“The Good Wife”

DRAMA. Michael J. Fox and Martha Plimpton return as Louis Canning and Patti Nyholm, who team up to take down the firm. Meanwhile, Alicia and Peter face a crisis of their own. And Kalinda? Well, we’ll find out at least a little more about the secretive investigator before episode’s end.

Season finale, Sunday, 9 p.m., CBS

“With Great Power: The Stan Lee Story”

DOCUMENTARY. Stan Lee, creator of superheroes including Spider-Man and the Fantastic Four is 90-years-old. His own awesome powers of longevity aren’t necessarily revealed, but the adoration he invokes from such celebrity admirers as Tobey Maguire and Kevin Smith certainly is.

Friday, 8 p.m., Epix

“TV Land Awards”

SPECIAL. Kelly Ripa hosts the 10th edition of this celebration of classic television. This year’s ceremony includes cast reunions of “Laverne & Shirley” and “One Day at a Time”; honorees include “Pee-wee’s Playhouse” and “In Living Color.”
