“Fringe”

DRAMA. The epic sci-fi drama “Fringe” has survived five seasons of near cancellation. So we have no doubt good guys Olivia, Peter, Walter and Astrid will find a way to overthrow the oppression of the terrifying, emotionless Observers in Friday’s series finale.

Series finale, Friday, 8 p.m., Fox

“Prosecuting Casey Anthony”

MOVIE. Rob Lowe returns to the Lifetime Original Movie fold (he gave a creepy performance as Drew Peterson in last year’s “Untouchable”), here as Assistant State Attorney Jeff Ashton, who served as prosecutor in the Casey Anthony murder trial.

Premiere, Saturday, 8 p.m., Lifetime

“Ripper Street”

DRAMA. The murders at the hands of Jack the Ripper threw London’s Whitechapel district into chaos; a year later, the area’s detectives are still dealing with the fallout — and plenty of new violence — in this new crime drama.

Series premiere, Saturday, 9 p.m., BBC America
