Tonight's TV highlights: Vietnam through a soldier's eyes

‘Vietnam in HD’

FILM. This stunning three-part series gathers rare footage — including film shot by the soldiers themselves — to present stories of the Vietnam War in a way never before seen on television. Michael C. Hall narrates, with Edward Burns, Adrian Grenier, Zachary Levi, Jennifer Love Hewitt, Dylan McDermott and others lending their voices to the tales.

Series premiere, 9 p.m., History Channel

‘Chuck’s Week Off’

REALITY. Iron Chef wannabe Chuck Hughes — he can be seen competing for The Chairman’s approval on this season of “The Next Iron Chef” — uses vacation time to eat his way around the globe. Up first on this new travelogue: Mexico.

Series premiere, 10:30 p.m., Cooking Channel

COMEDY. “Somewhere” in “America” a kid will be exposed to “West Side Story” for the first time “Tonight” when the McKinley kids premiere their school musical. “Cool.” (Sorry! We’re excited for some gleeky Sharks v. Jets action.)

8 p.m., Fox
