Rashad Evans hates thinking back to the first time he and Tito Ortiz met in the UFC.
It was July 7, 2007. Evans was an undefeated up-and-comer, but Ortiz fought him to a draw — and would have won, but for being docked a point.
“It’s one of those fights you just want to get back,” Evans said on a conference call today hyping next weekend’s rematch at UFC 133 in Philadelphia. “I was young, inexperienced at that level. I didn’t get my mind wrapped around the situation until it was a little too late.”
Evans, who’s been out of the cage since last May, will get a shot at redemption after Ortiz stepped in for the injured Phil Davis, who stepped in for Jon Jones. adam smartschan
