Waiting game

The top-seeded Pats can play one of three opponents next round:

» No. 6 Jets Rex Ryan needs something, anything, out of Mark Sanchez. The second-year QB threw three picks in a 45-3 drubbing by the Pats last month.

» No. 5 Ravens When the Pats beat the Ravens in OT, Baltimore linebacker Terrell Suggs said Tom Brady “just better hope he don’t see us again.” Chances are Brady doesn’t care who he sees next. But one player he had the pleasure of not seeing that game was safety Ed Reed, who missed it with an injury. Well, Reed is back and had a league-leading eight interceptions in just 10 games.

» No. 4 Chiefs Led by Jamaal Charles and Thomas Jones, the Chiefs averaged 164.2 rushing yards per game — tops in the league. It’s a perfect recipe for the harsh New England weather.
