Wakeup call: Dream’s done

How ironic is this?

On June 9, 2010, it was Patrick Sharp’s second period goal that started the Blackhawks’ comeback en route to their first Stanley Cup since 1961. However, it wasn’t the first time that Sharp won a championship on Wachovia Center ice. Almost five years to the day, Sharp and Jon Sim powered the Flyers’ AHL-affiliate, Philadelphia Phantoms to the Calder Cup. The opposing team? The Chicago Wolves.

It doesn’t stop there. Current Chicago teammate Ben Eager was also there with the Phantoms, as were current Flyers Mike Richards, Jeff Carter and Riley Cote. Behind the bench for the Phantoms as an assistant coach was Craig Berube who now serves as an assistant to Peter Laviolette.
