Television producer Ellen Rakieten and co-author Anne Coyle have done a public service for any man who has wondered, “What did I do wrong?” after a first date that went badly. Whether it was a refusal to give up the jean shorts, that cell phone strapped to the waist, or the regretful deployment of phrases like “booya” and “cool beans,” sometimes men need a hint about what makes them “undateable.”
“We love men,” says Rakieten. “This is not a man-bashing book. This is like, ‘Guys, here are the things that you wear that are really easy to fix.’” The book also offers tips for dangerous dating behaviors.
Airing for five consecutive nights on VH1, “Undateable” the show, based on the book, interviews celebrities like Salt ‘n’ Pepa, Bethenny Frankell and the “Jersey Shore” cast on their own pet peeves for what make certain men not worth the second date.
