When does NBA and college basketball season start for 2018-19?

It doesn’t seem too long ago that the Golden State Warriors were putting the finishing touches on winning last season’s NBA title but pro basketball is less than a month away from returning. The 2018-19 NBA season will start on Tuesday, Oct. 16 with a TNT double-header. The Philadelphia 76ers will play at the Boston Celtics in the 8 p.m. Eastern Standard Time opener while the Oklahoma City Thunder will play at the defending champion Golden State Warriors in the nightcap. That game will tip-off at 10:30 p.m. Eastern.
