OJ Simpson was released from Lovelock Correctional Institute early Sunday morning and is currently in the Las Vegas area.
According to the Associated Press, Simpson was with close friend Tom Scotto after being released from prison. The odd release hour was due to an effort to avoid media attention.
Simpson is expected to head to Florida within in the next few days to visit his children, Justin and Sydney. As far as Simpson potentially purchasing a home in Florida - that could be problematic, as the state is on record as not wanting him.

"The specter of [Simpson] residing in comfort in Florida should not be an option," Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi said in a statement. "Our state should not become a country club for this convicted criminal."
Scotto said this past summer that Simpson will likely live him in Naples, Florida for a few months. Justin and Sydney Simpson most recently lived in St. Petersburg.
Simpson moved to South Florida in 1999 after years of living in Southern California. It's unlikely Simpson, who had financial difficulties prior to his 2007 arrest, would ever move back to Southern California due to the high cost of living.
