He's not ready to pitch yet, but at least Michael Pineda has put one ugly incident behind him.

Pineda pleaded no contest Wednesday to a driving under the influence charge he received last Aug. 20 in Tampa, Fla. Pineda was sentenced to 50 hours of community service, one year of probation and a driving class.

Pineda, 24, has yet to pitch for the Yankees after being acquired from Seattle last offseason in a blockbuster trade for prized Yankee product Jesus Montero. Pineda himself was a prized talent after going 9-10 with a 3.74 ERA and 173 strikeouts in 171 innings in his rookie season in 2011. He was named to the All-Star team as well.

But in spring training last season Pineda injured his shoulder and underwent surgery. He missed all of 2012 and is not expected back until at least midseason this year.
