Stab wounds behind two deaths: Cops

Calgary cops have confirmed the city’s two latest homicide victims both died from stab wounds.

On Friday, just after 4 a.m., police found 46-year-old Clifford Charles Hamilton of Calgary slumped over in a laneway in the 2500 block of 56 St. N.E. He was found stabbed to death.

Homicide Staff Sgt. Kevin Forsen said police still believe that killing was not random in nature and appeared to be drug-related.

Then, early Saturday, around 2:15 a.m., police were called to Plush nightclub in the 200 block of 9th Avenue S.E. to reports of a fight.

When they arrived, they found 19-year-old Rochelle Ziegfred Manguinao suffering from a stab wound. He later died from his injuries in hospital.

“In this case, there were a lot of witnesses and we’re hoping more people come forward to the police or Crime Stoppers and help us out,” Forsen said.
