JJ Abrams’ addition to the famed science fiction franchise has completed principal photography, Disney and Lucasfilm announced today while also debuting the film’s official title. The latest entry, previously referred to simply as “Episode VII,” will be called “Star Wars: the Force Awakens.” News on the much-anticipated sequel is rare and hard to come by, so even a four-word sentence counts as a big deal.
Now for the really important part: snarky reactions and debate about whether the new name is a good sign or a bad sign. Hopefully this won’t be another “Phantom Menace.” Here are some of the best knee-jerk reactions:
“The Force Awakens” seems like as good a “Star Wars” title as any and I have no desire to mock it, which annoys me.

I like “The Force Awakens” because it sounds like a slogan on a novelty coffee mug that your dad would buy at Disneyland.

I hear they nearly called it Star Wars: Marvel’s The Force Awakens to go really big.

The Force Awakens. Jesus, how much did it drink last night? Its head is pounding. Who is this woman in the bed? Wait. She’s not breathing.
