Start your Valentine’s Day with a romantic brunch


OK, brunch is probably not the first thing you’re doing this Saturday. But there’s no need to wait until dinner to enjoy a great meal together.

The boozy brunch for two ($55) at rustic Italian spot Asellina (420 Park Ave. S.) includes two glasses of Perrier Jouet Champagne and a choice of shared appetizers and desserts — for the entree, everyone gets what they want, and isn’t that the way it should be?

​​Public (210 Elizabeth St.) is holding a daylong Lovers Feast, kicking off with an a la carte shared plates brunch (like pecan sticky buns), a hot chocolate bar and specialty “chock-tails” like Java the Hot: vanilla-infused vodka, coffee liqueur, espresso, frozen hot chocolate. (Dinner is five courses for $125 per person, with dishes like quail egg with caviar and Champagne gelee and Textures of Chocolate, with a selection of lovers-themed drinks.)

The holiday even has Daniel Boulud in a celebratory mood. His flagship restaurant Daniel (60 E. 65th St.) will open for a rare lunch service on Saturday beginning at noon, with a four-course prix fixe ($225 per person).

Brunch ($50 per person) at Bobo (181 W. 10th St.), set inside a century-old West Village townhouse, is a three-course French affair – including dessert, mais oui – with choices like of oysters and fluke escabeche and filet mignon with sunny-side eggs.
