Stay classy, New York Post: Muammar Gaddafi killed by a Yankee fan?

The latest installment in a series we like to call, “Stay classy, New York Post.”

Who sees a picture of a dead dictator and thinks, “This is the perfect opportunity to make a joke about the Yankees?” The New York Post, that’s who!

Once again the classic New York rag has managed to create another cover that makes us want to both chuckle and recoil in horror. Obviously, the Post editors have no hesitation this morning about placing a dead body on front of the paper — that’s par for the course — but what really ties the page together is the image up in the right hand corner: The “Yankee fan” rumored to have killed Muammar Gaddafi holding the Libyan strongman’s infamous golden gun, which is then strategically positioned up near Gaddafi’s head on the page. Just in case you missed the point.

The Post has never been shy in pushing the ethical boundaries of journalism, but has this graphic image and their distasteful humor gone too far?

Let us know what you think!
