A stolen SUV crashed into a Lynn coffee shop early Monday, and the driver was arrested after a police search.
Around 2:30 a.m. at the Walnut Street Coffee Cafe at the corner of Walnut and Cliff streets, a stolen SUV crashed through the building’s brick wall, and the driver fled the scene on foot, Fox reported. The suspect was arrested later Monday morning. RELATED:Man allegedly assaults crash-scene nurse after DUI wreck During his escape, the suspect allegedly attempted to procure a taxi cab, but the cab company alerted police, WHDH reported in a related article. Police said that the SUV he crashed, a white Jeep, was stolen from Beverly, Fox added.
The crash has caused significant damage to the building, WHDH said, also stating that crews are still on the scene to ensure that the building is structurally sound.
