Stransky leads Blades to 3-1 win over Broncos

SASKATOON – Matej Stransky scored a pair of goals as the Saskatoon Blades beat the Swift Current Broncos 3-1 in Western Hockey League action Tuesday.

Josh Nicholls scored into an empty net and set up both of Stransky’s goals as Saskatoon (31-19-1) moved past Kootenay into fifth place in the Eastern Conference. The Blades are 8-2-0 in their last 10 games.

Ryon Moser scored the only goal for the Broncos (19-27-5), which lost its second straight game and is 3-7-0 in its last 10.

Andrey Makarov made 31 saves for Saskatoon.

Jon Groenheyde stopped 27 shots for Swift Current.
