A subway passenger was stabbed on the 49th Street R train platform on Wednesday evening with what doctors believe was a needle.

The stabbing victim, a 37-year-old woman, said that she felt a sharp pain after being bumped by another passenger, Fox reported. The suspect who bumped her is described as a white man in his 40s.

Later in the evening, she went to a hospital and doctors examined her injury, concluding that it was probably a syringe that punctured her, the Daily Mail reported in a related article.

Police are reviewing surveillance footage to look for any leads, the Daily Mail added, also stating that the woman has taken blood tests to check for any possible infections.
