From humble beginnings as a pork farm in Acme, Sunterra Market has grown popular among foodies.
The upscale grocery items are pledged to be organic, fair trade or gluten-free, and the lunch counter posts a revolving menu of largely locally sourced delights.
The large, open-air kitchen allowed my family a perusal of the sights and smells of fresh food. My panini ($8.49) took a couple of minutes to compose, which gave me time to visit the coffee station.
Turkey, white cheddar and red pepper melted into a gooey mess between the crunchy slabs of bread. The taste was terrific, but the bread could have been thinner. The thick cream of cauliflower soup warmed my body and heated my taste buds with cumin.
For inexpensive, tasty comfort food with an artistic flare — and a philosophy of food that is important to support — Sunterra is a great spot for a lunch rush.
