A public initiative in the southwest community of Mission has residents excited about a neighbourhood revitalization.
Ald. John Mar was in the community yesterday to celebrate the 26th Avenue SW riverfront revitalization.
“It’s a cleanup of the river pathways, widening the pathways, general cleanup, and planting more trees and plants,” Mar said, adding volunteers were on hand to help out.
“It’s going to make the area look cleaner, safer and friendlier.”
Resident Kim Munchrath said while the area is already nice, it never hurts to revitalize any community.
