Swift fox pups zoo’s first in 16 years

The Calgary Zoo’s four new bundles of joy are finally out to play.

For the first time in 16 years, swift fox pups were born into the Calgary Zoo, with four delivered during the week of April 22. The quartet is now just venturing out into the public eye, zoo spokesperson Laurie Herron said.

“They are so cute, small and shy, but everyone loves them when they have a chance to see them. They are just so adorable,” Herron said.

Born to parents Beren and Foxy Cleopatra, the pups are usually out during the early morning and late afternoon, Herron said.

“We’ve heard a lot of good things about them so far. Everybody is pretty excited, we’re just thrilled.”
