French don’t care, but we do

Carla Bruni-Sarkozy and her husband, French president Nicolas Sarkozy, welcomed their first child, Giulia, this week, according to The Telegraph. The baby is the first child born to a ruling French leader since Napoleon. Of course, the new mom doesn’t see this as news, as Bruni-Sarkozy told the BBC last month: “There isn’t much to say. So many women are expecting children and giving birth, and it’s so uninteresting for French people.”

Hurray for ScarJoseph!

A work-related meeting reportedly led to something more for Scarlett Johansson and Joseph Gordon-Levitt, as sources tell Us Weekly the two were spotted making out in New York recently. “They were kissing,” a source says. “They were very lovey.”

A girl for Jessica?

Reports on Jessica Simpson’s alleged pregnancy have moved past when she’ll announce it and onto what the gender of the baby will be. And the answer is a girl, according to Hollyscoop. “She’s telling people it’s like winning the lottery, twice,” a source says of Simpson. “Jessica really wanted to find out the baby’s sex, she hates surprises. She and [fiance] Eric [Johnson] are both so happy.”

Taylor Swift: Not that girl

Taylor Swift says she’s extremely single these days — and very happy that way. “I don’t have a boyfriend. I don’t even have, like, kind of a boyfriend. I don’t have someone that I’m texting that is a guy that someday might be my boyfriend,” the country crooner tells Ellen DeGeneres during a visit to her talk show. “If you’re the girl that needs a boyfriend, and once she loses that boyfriend needs to replace it with a different boyfriend, it’s just this constant stream of boyfriends all the time. I don’t ever want to be that girl.”
