Tebow answers questions about Vogue spread

With all that time spent on the bench this year, apparently Jets quarterback Tim Tebow would like to spend it awkwardly posing with a spare tire from a tractor.

The little-used Jets quarterback has had only 11 snaps under center for the Jets, leaving plenty of time on the sidelines to plan his photo shoot for Vogue magazine. Images of the spread in this month’s issue recently became public and Tebow became the target of some locker room jesting, especially from linebacker Bart Scott.

“I haven’t even seen the article, so I don’t know,” Tebow said. “A lot of the guys have been teasing me about the pictures today though.”

Of course, it wouldn’t be hard-hitting journalism unless the talk circled around Tebow and his private life. In the Vogue interview, Tebow made it clear that he is using his own mother as the benchmark in his search for love. He went on to say that he’s looking for a woman with a “servant’s heart.”

Tebow clarified this point on Friday, as the Christian was using a common Biblical reference to describe his ideal woman.

“It’s something that it’s not all about them. It’s someone that can put others first, someone that doesn’t always have to be the center of attention and someone that’s a helper,” Tebow said. “Someone that puts their family first, is loving, is caring, all those things. That’s what I mean by servant.”

But the chatter on Friday was less about the content of the interview and more about the accompanying photos. Beyond the shirtless tire-flip, Tebow showed less skin in the spread shot by Annie Leibovitz.

Scott of course had something to say about it.

“Yeah, Bart is usually the loud one about stuff like this. It’s pretty funny,” Tebow said. “We talked about how exactly I was doing it and stuff. He wants to do it next time.”
