A 15-year-old Bronx girl was shot in the leg Saturday night as she ran to save a toddler’s life, The Daily News reports.

Sarah Riviera was standing outside her apartment building on Kelly Street near Westchester Avenue about 10:30 p.m. when she heard multiple gunshots. As several people ran for cover, Riviera spotted a toddler in a stroller and ran to push the tot to safety.

“Everybody started running, so I went to grab the carriage,” Riviera told the News. “As I pushed it, the bullet hit me.”

The teen was shot in the leg and taken to Lincoln Hospital in stable condition, police said.

Witnesses said the baby’s father tied his shirt around Riviera’s leg until help arrived. Doctors expect Riviera to make a full recovery.

Meanwhile, cops are searching for 23-year-old Raheem Simon, who they say is responsible for firing the gun. Simon is described as a black male, 5-foot-8 and weighing 185 lbs.
