Teens checking out attractive woman realize she is being kidnapped

What would you do if you noticed the woman in the backseat of the car next to you mouth the words “help me” with a look of despair?

When two teens from Texas glanced over to scope out the young woman in the neighboring car, they quickly realized it was no ordinary joyride.

Aaron Arias, 19, and Jamal Harris, 17, told the 911 dispatcher they were checking out a “kind of attractive girl” in the backseat of a nearby car driven by a man when she looked at them and mouthed the words “help me.” They immediately called police and started tailing the car, which was speeding up and slowing down erratically.

“It’s me and another guy. So we’re checking out the girl in the backseat because we’re like, ‘OK, she’s kind of attractive,'” Arias said during the 911 call. “And then all of a sudden the guy is turned back, looking at us. We looked in the backseat and the blonde female in the back was saying ‘help me’ or something, whispering it.”

“She was hitting the back windshield,” he added. “We could see her hand and she looked frantic.”

Police soon stopped the vehicle, rescuing the 25-year-old woman and arresting Charles Atkins Lewis Jr., who is accused with hitting the woman with a gun and forcing her into the backseat of her own car as she was leaving an office party in Dallas.

Arias and Harris said the woman told them, “Oh my god, I just want to hug you,” which the teens described as sufficient acknowledgement of their actions.
