Red Sox manager John Farrell, who announced last week that he will miss the remainder of the 2015 season as he battles Stage 1 lymphoma, will have his first chemotherapy session on Tuesday. According to NESN’s Tom Caron, Cleveland manager and former Sox skipper Terry Francona will accompany Farrell to the first session.

Farrell and Francona remain close friends as Farrell served as the pitching coach on Francona’s Red Sox staff from 2007-10.

E-Rod back on the hill

Eduardo Rodriguez will get the ball for the Red Sox Tuesday (7 p.m., NESN) at Fenway Park against Cleveland and he’ll be looking to rebound from arguably the worst start of his young MLB career.

Rodriguez allowed eight earned runs on nine hits in just five innings of work at Miami last week in a 5-0 Red Sox loss. The lefty, who was absolutely brilliant in the first three starts of his Boston career, has been hit or miss of late. Overall, Rodriguez now owns a 4.83 ERA, 1.29 WHIP and 6-5 record.

The Indians are scheduled to counter with Trevor Bauer (9-9, 4.35 ERA) on the mound on Tuesday.
