One Texas mother took her anger to new extremes when she partially ripped off her 6-year-old son’s scrotum.

Jennifer Marie Vargas, 34, grabbed her son by the scrotum in a fit of rage and pulled him toward her as hard as she could, accidentally tearing it in the process. She then tried to superglue his skin back together, reports My San Antonio.

Vargas, who resides in Joint Base San Antonio-Fort Sam Houston with her soldier husband, was arrested on Wednesday for the assault. She admitted to authorities that she had caused injury to her son before applying rubbing alcohol to the wound and trying to superglue it together. She told him to go to bed and did not seek medical attention.

My San Antonio reports that a criminal complaint affidavit states that the child’s father came home from work on Sept. 27 and found his son in his bedroom, crying. He then found the bloody paper towels in his son’s underwear and learned of the assault. He took him to the San Antonio Military Medical Center, where it was discovered that the laceration to his scrotum was 4 cm long, and he had bruising in his genital area. Doctors performed surgery on the boy to repair the damage.

The child is staying with his father while he recovers from the surgery. Vargas was detained without bond, though she has not yet been charged. She has no record with Child Protective Services in Texas, but investigators are looking at other states where the family has lived to see if there were previous interactions with other family agencies.
