The Hub Crawl 2/1: Celtics, Bruins grab wins

The Celtics nearly blew their second straight game to the Cleveland Cavaliers (8-12) Tuesday night but a turnaround jumper by Kevin Garnett and a pair of free throws by Paul Pierce allowed Boston (10-10) to come away with a 93-90 win.

The Celtics were up by 22 points at one point in the contest.

Pierce led the Green with 20 points while Anderson Varejao scored 20 points and collected 20 rebounds for Cleveland.

Bruins: Dennis Seidenberg proved to be the hero for the Bruins Tuesday night at TD Garden as his slapshot from center ice somehow found the net to give Boston a 3-2 win.

Tim Thomas, playing in his first home game since blowing off President Obama and the White House last week, had 30 saves in the win and got a loud ovation from the sold-out Garden crowd.
