The Word: Brad Pitt and Zac Efron party at Cannes

We didn’t really want to talk about how Nicole Kidman relieves Zac Efron‘s jellyfish sting in their new film, “Paperboy.” But we needed an excuse to run this photo as large as possible, so here goes: She had to pee on him, and yes, it was awkward. “I don’t think I was supposed to be comfortable,” the actor said at a press conference. “It’s like life. This character is learning the ways of the world. That can be uncomfortable.”

Brad Pitt’s bachelor party?

Although he insists there’s no date set for his wedding to Angelina Jolie, Brad Pitt has been treating the Cannes Film Festival like a bit of a bachelor party.

At a black-tie after-party for his new film “Killing Them Softly,” the actor partied with everyone from Kylie Minogue to Diddy — who stopped by for a congrats drink before getting back to his yacht — and put back some expensive booze with Jolie nowhere in sight.

“With Brad’s impending wedding it almost had the feel of a sophisticated pre-bachelor party, with bottles of $390 Johnnie Walker whiskey and plenty of cigars,” a guest who we assume didn’t arrive by yacht tells Us Weekly. “It was definitely a night for Brad to remember.”

You’d think so. But then again, swanky whiskey with Diddy on the French Riviera might be Brad Pitt’s equivalent of warm wine-coolers with the cat.

Straight up now, Paula

No matter what an unauthorized Simon Cowell biography says, Paula Abdul claims she never had a relationship with her former “American Idol” boss. “It would never ever happen because he’s selfish and he’d be a selfish lover and he’d call his own name out during sex if it ever happened,” Abdul tells Wendy Williams in an interview.

Paula, why do we have a feeling that you’re speaking from experience here?

The end is near

Not only does Pauly Shore want to do a sequel to “In the Army Now” with Andy Dick, but he already has the plot in mind for a follow-up to the 1994 film.

“I’ve always said we should do ‘In the Army Again'” he said during an interview for Dick’s radio show. “We should rescue Katy Perry from a USO show gone bad or something.”

Any other week, we’d brush this off. But as of Friday, both “Men in Black 3” and “Battleship” will be in theaters.
