The Word: Britney Spears, Demi Lovato sign on to ‘X-Factor’

Simon Cowell and L.A. Reid finally have some company at “The X Factor” judges table. At their upfront presentation yesterday, Fox confirmed the rumors that Britney Spears and Demi Lovato have signed on to the singing competition’s second season.

Lovato is a harmless relief, considering Miley Cyrus‘ vacant little smirk was in the running. And in theory, Spears makes perfect sense: She’s a former high-profile star ready for a comeback, especially one with some disaster insurance. But, even though we’ve watched her make Starbucks runs in her pajamas, we can’t say with certainty that we’ve ever heard Britney Spears talk.

Beckford: Sorry for the sex-tape letdown

Tyson Beckford doesn’t want you to watch his sex tape, but it’s not because he’s embarrassed about it.

After a tape of him performing, um, solo hit the market, the former Polo model took to Twitter. “Don’t even faze me. We all do it, just mine got caught on film,” he said of the footage, which was intended for the sparkly eyes of a fellow model friend.

He is, however, concerned that you won’t get your money’s worth: “Not much of a sex tape,” he admitted.

Pauly D enters the booze biz

Pauly D of “Jersey Shore” infamy has a new line of cocktails in the works, and it looks like it will fare better than the Situation’s protein-laced vodka (this is a real thing — jokes that gross don’t make it to print).

The reality star has teamed up with Skinnygirl Cocktails cofounder David Kanbar for REMIX, a series of vodka-based drinks, and it’s off to a promising start, reports TMZ. At the Wine & Spirits Wholesalers of America convention in Las Vegas last month, sources tell the site that it sold more cases than the popular Skinnygirl managed to move in 18 months.

This seems like the closest thing to “happily ever after” that “Jersey Shore” is offering — we’ll take it.

Houston family headed to reality TV

Lifetime has picked up “The Houston Family Chronicles,” a 10-part reality series following the the late Whitney Houston‘s family and friends.

“The tragic loss of Whitney Houston left a void in the hearts of people all over the world, but certainly none more so than her beloved family,” says executive vice president of programming Rob Sharenow in a press release that name-checks sisterhood, healing, growing and other motivating factors that aren’t money.
