Jason Aldean is divorcing his high school sweetheart. If that ain’t fodder for a country song, we don’t know what is.
Country music star Jason Aldean’s tour bus struck and killed a pedestrian on an Indiana highway Monday morning.
“With a heavy heart, I’m sad to say that a man passed away last night after stepping out in front of my bus in Indiana,” the singer wrote on WhoSay. “In all the years I’ve been touring and all the miles we’ve driven, nothing prepares you for something like this to happen. I’m praying for Albert Kennedy’s family and friends today and ask that you do the same.”
Aldean was the only passenger on the bus at the time, according to CNN. He was heading to Illinois for a vacation after wrapping up his tour.
Though details are scant, it sounds like Aldean and his driver likely weren’t to blame: The Knox County Sheriff’s office said Kennedy “walked out into the middle of the roadway.”
Earlier this year Aldean filed for divorce from his wife and high school sweetheart Jessica Ussery, seven months after photographers caught the singer kissing a former “American Idol” contestant at a Los Angeles bar.
The singer, whose real name is Jason Williams, publicly apologized last year for “acting inappropriately” when the photos showing him and reality show contestant Brittany Kerr were published.
