The Word: Ripa keeping mum on Regis replacement

Kelly Ripa isn’t too concerned with trying to find a replacement for her famed co-host Regis Philbin when he leaves “Live! with Regis and Kelly” at the end of November.

“All I want to do is enjoy and celebrate his legacy,” she told Metro while co-hosting Super Saturday 14, an annual benefit for the Ovarian Cancer Research Fund on Saturday in Water Mill, N.Y. “After he leaves, we’ll worry about getting a guy or gal in there.” But she did tell the throng of reporters that the change-up won’t be boring.

“I don’t think there will be a Regis replacement — I think it will be a totally new person.”

The payments — called “probably the largest support order in the history of the family court” — would cover round-the-clock nannies, drivers and security detail. “On days when I do not work, I am working onmy image” is a wonderful way to say “unemployed,” isn’t it?
