In how-cool-is-that?! news, The XX announced today that they will play 25 shows in NYC in March, each show with a capacity of 40 people.

You’d probably think that would be a big hit on the wallet, but all things considered, a ticket for the shows — at Park Avenue Armory’s Wade Thompson Drill Hall from March 19-29 — only costs $55.

The band are adapting the shows from their residency this summer in their homeland of England.

Their website thanks the New York City Department of Cultural Affairs in partnership with the NYC Council.

As a tribute to this series of intimate shows, we’re showing you a Metro archive photo from the first time we saw the band, in 2009 at the also very intimate Delancey Ballroom during CMJ. Remember when they had four members?
