Boston Beer and Cheese Fest

What’s a better combo than beer and cheese? Fill up on both at Drink Craft Beer’s annual two-day fest this weekend. Sip and munch on offerings from dozens of New England breweries and cheese makers.

Harpoon St. Patrick’s Day Festival

Get a head start on St. Patrick’s Day at Harpoon’s annual bash. The fun kicks off on Friday with a ceremonial keg tapping and continues through Saturday evening with live Irish music, traditonal Irish fare and, of course, plenty of beer. Drinks on tap will include Harpoon IPA, The Craic, Boston Irish Stout, Fresh Tracks, House Golden, Craft Cider, UFO White, UFO Apricadabra and the brewery’s newest addition, UFO Pineapple.

Lebowski Fest

Take a trip up to Salem this weekend to celebrate 20 years of the Dude at a special pop-up event. The Lobster Shanty is teaming up with Deacon Giles Distillery for a night of food, drinks and “Big Lebowski”-themed fun.

Taste of Iceland

From music and film to food and drinks, experience Icelandic culture right here in Boston when the annual fest returns this weekend. Through Sunday, The Towsman and Beat Brasserie will have special menus in honor of Taste of Iceland, while a free concert dubbed Reykjavik Calling is set to take over the Paradise Rock Club on Friday night. The festivities will conclude with a pair of free events, including a discussion about Icelandic design at the BSA Space on Saturday, followed by a short film festival at the Brattle on Sunday.

Demetri Martin

Known for his deadpan delivery and love of palindromes, the stand-up star and “Daily Show” alum heads to Boston this weekend for a pair of shows at The Wilbur.

March Comedy Madness

Some of the nation’s top up-and-coming comics will verbally duke it out at this annual comedy contest. 16 local comics will get to test their skills in the opening bracket at Laugh Boston on Friday night, with the winner getting a chance to go for gold at the final four championship round at Mohegan Sun in April.

“Paw Patrol Live”

Blarney Blowout

The St. Patrick’s Day fun continues with this block party-style bash on Saturday.
