Jimmy Fallon returned to Boston over the weekend for a headlining performance at the Comics Come Home charity event.

The late-night host has grown pretty fond of the Hub over the years, especially after starring in "Fever Pitch" with Drew Barrymore. While he played a member of Red Sox nation in the 2005 comedy, Fallon's actual baseball allegiances haven't always been clear, as Alex Rodriguez pointed out in a 2015 interview on "The Tonight Show."

Although he's got a lot of love for Boston, Fallon admitted to Metro before Saturday night's show that he's actually a Yankees fan.

"I just say that I'm a Yankees fan, but I played for the Sox for one season," Fallon said. "And that season, we won the World Series."

The comedian and actor has another on-screen connection with Boston thanks to his role in the 2004 film "Taxi," which also starred fashion icon and Tom Brady's wife Gisele Bündchen. The movie wasn't exactly a hit among critics, and Fallon knew early on that the comedy "was not going to work" after a visit to his hometown of Saugerties, New York.

"I went home to my hometown and I was going to go to the local movie theater and treat everyone to tickets," Fallon told reporters before Saturday's show. "I went home, I went to my movie theater and they weren't playing my movie."

The former "Saturday Night Live" star was so bummed out by the fact that his local theater wasn't playing his film that he felt like "throwing a brick through the window."

While New York hasn't always been kind to Fallon, Boston never fails to give the comedian a warm welcome when he's in town.

Fallon revealed to Metro that he's a huge fan of the city's food scene. Aside from grabbing chowder at Legal Sea Foods or Chowder House, "The Tonight Show" host likes to dine at the Italian restaurant Monica's Mercato.

"I love Monica's," Fallon said. "I know the whole family over there in the North End."

He's also a huge fan of Doretta Taverna & Raw Bar by award-winning chef Michael Schlow.

"Michael Schlow is a friend of mine," Fallon said. "He's a great chef, so I always go to Doretta."
