It’s been a rough several months for Maria Menounos and her family, as the Medford native underwent surgery to remove a tumor from her brain earlier this summer. Her mother has been battling a health struggle of her own as well, having been diagnosed with stage IV brain cancer.
Despite the serious medical woes, Menounos hasn’t let any of that slow her down while she’s on the mend. The E! personality is staying positive and recently unveiled her new food stall located right in the heart of Fenway.
Dubbed Maria’s Greek Kitchen, the new venture with partners Aramak hopes to spice up the area’s food scene with a menu filled with traditional Greek offerings. According to the Boston Herald, Menounos’ plans to sell plenty of gyros when the stand officially opens on Sept. 4.
The 39-year-old star took to her Instagram account to celebrate the launch of Maria’s Greek Kitchen, saying in a post that she hopes to bring healthier fare to Fenway.
“Don’t get me wrong I love me some nachos and hot dogs but sometimes you want something healthier,” Menounos wrote. “My goal was to make eating healthy simple at a game. Everything is organic too which was important to me after the health issues we have been facing in our family. Some of the ingredients are sourced right upstairs on the Fenway roof top garden!”
The Bay State star isn’t new to the world of food. Menounos already has her own brand of phyllo swirls and has published a few books on cooking and dieting in recent years.
