Where to watch Mayweather vs. McGregor in Boston

Combat sports history will be made on Aug. 26 when boxer Floyd Mayweather puts his undefeated record on the line against UFC champion Conor McGregor.

If you don’t feel like paying a hefty pay-per-view price tag for the big fight, don’t worry, because there are plenty of places showing the event in Boston. Just don’t be surprised if locals show their Irish pride when “Notorious” walks into the ring.

Here are five places you can watch Mayweather vs. McGregor in Boston.

Cask n’ Flagon

The popular Fenway bar is going all out for this summer’s money match-up. Cask’s nightclub concept Oliver’s will have the fight showing on its myriad of HDTVs and there will also be cocktails on hand in honor of the two fighters. The Pretty Boy ($9) is a Mayweather-themed drink featuring a twist on a Golden Cadillac with el Jimador, lemon, lime and Grand Marnier, while the McGregor-themed Notoriousshot ($9), featuring a cinnamon toast punch with Flaming Leprechaun whiskey, RumChata and a cinnamon rim.

Greatest Bar

If you want to watch the fight in style, head to the West End. The Greatest Bar is offering VIP experiences for Mayweather vs. McGregor for those willing to shell out the big bucks. A cool $400 gets you first floor lounge seats for up to eight guests, plus line privileges. Fans who are looking for a more low key night can get general admission tickets for $25.

Green Briar

Don’t be surprised to see Irish flags on display as locals cheer on McGregor at this Brighton pub. The Green Briar will host a special viewing party for the big fight, but make sure to get there early as everyone who wants to watch has to be inside by 9:30 p.m.

Instead of rockers, Mayweather vs. McGregor will take centerstage at the popular music venue. The House of Blues plans to throw a huge viewing party on fight night and will show the bout on its massive high definition screen.

Boylston Street won’t miss out on the action thanks to the folks at Lir. The Irish pub will have the showdown on display with its array of high definition TVs. Tickets are $30 in advance and will also be available at the door if it doesn’t sell out.
