Blowfish Tails

Gameday food just got an interesting makeover at this Boston sushi restaurant.

Back Bay hotspot Uni recently unveiled its newest addition to the restaurant’s dinner menu: buffalo blowfish tails. This reimagining of buffalo chicken fingers comes courtesy of Uni chef Tony Messina, a big Patriots fan who wanted to give foodies a twist on the appetizer just in time for the return of football season.

Messina created the blowfish tails dish by marinating the meat in buttermilk and Sapporo beer. The fish is also breaded using a mixture of Special K and Frosted Flakes cereal.

Served with buffalo sauce and blue cheese, the blowfish tails at Uni cost $15 per order.

Three words: Buffalo Blowfish Tails. ???

While some types of blowfish, also known as pufferfish, can be deadly to eat if it isn’t cooked properly, guests who try the buffalo dish at Uni won’t have to worry about that, as the Boston sushi restaurant thankfully doesn’t use the poisonous version of the fish.
