Every summer, Newport Rhode Island’s Fort Adams park comes alive with the Newport Jazz Festival. This legendary festival brings the best new artists of the genre while paying respects to the old guard and those who had paved the way and pushed the boundaries for one of America’s most cherished exports. Here is everything you need to know about the Newport Jazz Festival 2018.  

When is the Newport Jazz Festival 2018?

The Newport Jazz Festival will begin on Friday, August 3rd and will go all weekend ending on Sunday, August 5th.

Newport Jazz Festival 2018 lineup

The lineup this year is a who’s who of the genre and all three nights will culminate in headlining performances from jazz saxophone legend Charles Lloyd in honor of his 80th birthday. The final night will be something truly special, as he will be performing with Alt-Country pioneer Lucinda Williams with material from the collaborative album Vanished Gardens that was released earlier this year. Like always, the Newport Jazz Festival 2018 lineup will also contain some of the younger artists in jazz as well as artists who are merely associated with it with artists like Living Colour and George Clinton & Parliament Funkadelic scheduled to appear. Here are the Newport Jazz Festival 2018 lineups for each night:

Newport Jazz Festival 2018 – Friday Lineup

How much are tickets to the Newport Jazz Festival 2018?

Tickets are still available to the Newport Jazz Festival 2018. If you are looking to go for the whole weekend, three-day general admission tickets will cost you $170. Two-day general admission will cost $145. Single day tickets will vary, costing adults $65 on Friday and $89 for Saturday and Sunday. Students will be charged $20 and children will be charged $15 for single-day tickets all weekend long.  

You will have the option to upgrade your tickets for an additional $125 to ensure reserved seating. But if you really want to go all out, you can opt for the “THE Jazz Club” ticket option that will give you access to exclusive viewing areas, parking, complimentary snacks and exclusive cash bars, and Newport Jazz Festival 2018 swag. Those tickets will cost you $375 per day.
