The kids are out of school, and it’s up to you to keep them out of trouble for the next two months.

We’ve already rounded up a ton of fun things for families, and the New York Hall of Science’s Angry Birds exhibit should be on your must-do list, but at some point you’ll either get tired or run out of ideas.

That, friends, is when you head to the movies. Beginning July 4, Regal Cinemas is bringing back its Summer Movie Express screenings for families, where all tickets are $1 for recently released animated films like “The Lego Batman Movie” and “Penguins of Madagascar.”

The screenings starting at 10 a.m. on Tuesday and Wednesday mornings, and run all nine weeks of summer, with two new films featured each week. A portion of each $1 admission benefits the Will Rogers Institute.

Here’s the list of participating theaters:

UA Kaufman Astoria Stadium 14 (35-30 38th St., Long Island City)
UA Sheepshead Bay Stadium 14 IMAX (3907 Shore Parkway, Brooklyn)
UA Staten Island Stadium 16 (2474 Forest Ave., Staten Island)

Besides being a sweet deal, sitting in an air-conditioned room that isn’t costing you a fortune is just about a perfect way to spend a few hours during summer. Maybe you’ll even gain some new appreciation for the film on the big screen.
