It is said that the best things in life are free and in the case of getting hitched, your engagement ring could be free, thanks to Safian & Rudolph on Jeweler’s Row, owned by Hy Goldberg and his son, Rich.

Located at the corner of 7th and Sansom Street, in the oldest jewelry district in the United States, Safian & Rudolph is giving away a one-carat diamond ring to one Philadelphia couple in a social media contest that begins today, Oct. 16 and runs through Saturday, Dec. 2.

The engagement ring up for grabs is by celebrated designer, Scott Kay, and is valued at $5,000.

“This is one of our finest style rings,” says Rich Goldberg. “If you want a ring with real wow factor, this is it.”

Hy Goldberg adds: “We wanted to do something nice for Philadelphia, and for a pair of Philadelphians in love, who can’t afford to purchase a ring of this magnitude, this holiday season.”

Here’s how to enter:

Beginning at 9:00 a.m. on Monday, October 16, applicants can post a photo of themselves on Safian & Rudolph’s Facebook page or on their own (public) Instagram page, along with 100 words or less explaining why they deserve to win the engagement ring.

Submissions will be accepted until 11:59 p.m. on Saturday, December 2, and must include the #SayItWithSafian hashtag.

Three finalists will be announced on Tuesday, December 5, and then the public will vote on the winner, with voting ending at 11:59 p.m. on Tuesday, December 12.

The winner will be announced at an in-person event at the jewelry store on Thursday, December 14.
