For those of us with credit cards, it’s all about the perks and American Express certainly knows how to give their customers the star treatment, especially with the preview of The Centurion Lounge in Philadelphia International Airport at Terminal A West last night.

Marking its eighth U.S. location, the 6,300 square foot space is the epitome of swankiness, complete with dedicated workspaces, power outlets, private phone areas, plush seating and high-speed wifi — key essentials for the busy traveler.

What’s more, guests in the lounge can even enjoy Israeli-inspired food from four-times James Beard Award winner, Chef Michael Solomonov — a Philly food legend. Items on the menu include dishes you can’t get at his award-winning restaurants like challah French toast with tehina and blackberries, Israeli salad with feta, kale tabbouleh with apples and pomegranate, Bulgarian kebabs with red pepper and white bean salad and malabi (Israeli milk pudding) with coconut and passionfruit.

“We are extremely honored to be a part of the American Express Centurion Lounge family and excited to help make their newest lounge an oasis of hospitality for Philadelphia travelers,” says Chef Michael Solomonov in a press release. “It’s such an exciting time to be a Philadelphian, and I am grateful for the opportunity to show visitors to our historic town what the City of Brotherly Love is all about.”

Solomonov attended the debut event last night, signing copies of his book “Federal Donuts: The (Partially) True Spectacular Story.”

In addition to the food, there’s even a complimentary bar complete with expertly crafted cocktails by master mixologist Jim Meehan and an extensive selection of wine curated by Anthony Giglio.

Want to get access to the lounge? The perk is exclusively for  Platinum Card and Centurion Members. Platinum Card Members can enter with up to two travel companions at no additional charge. Additional guests beyond that cost $50 for a one-day pass.

The lounge is not open to the public yet but is expected to make its debut soon.
