It’s going to take a little more than paint to bring order to these characters.

Just hours after the city’s Department of Transportation and NYPD announced new rules will soon be in effect in Times Square to regulate commercial activity, three costumed characters were arrested for fighting with tourists over money, according to CBS2 New York.

A woman dressed as Anna from “Frozen” allegedly got into an argument Thursday afternoon over money with a man and a women from Iowa after the pair took photos with the character and handed over $10, PIX11 New York reported.

The “princess” allegedly handed back $3 after the tourists demanded more change and then walked away.

According to PIX 11, the tourists also gave an Iron Man and Incredible Hulk the same amount of money — and both characters refused to give back change.

All three characters were taken into custody and are expected to be charged with petty larceny, CBS2 reported.

Starting Wednesday night, the DOT started painting eight zones in Times Square marking off Designated Activity Zones — targeted for commercial activities including the costumed characters — and Pedestrian Flow Zones, which are meant solely for pedestrians looking to get through the area.

The agency is installing the zones from Broadway to 7th Avenue between 42nd and 47th streets. The zones will be delineated with painted tape but also feature signs identifying each area.

Starting Monday, DOT street ambassadors and police will begin handing out fliers with maps indicating the zones and rules. The NYPD will begin enforcement of the new rules starting June 21.
