Three Ottawa men charged in child porn investigation

Three Ottawa men are among the 31 people arrested and charged by the Ontario Provincial Police in connection with the largest, co-ordinated, province-wide child pornography investigation in Ontario’s history.

The accused were charged following raids carried out across the province by the OPP Child Exploitation Section and 18 municipal police services on Wednesday. Additional arrests are pending as the investigation continues.

Police executed a total of 33 search warrants, resulting in 93 charges against 31 people, including sexual assault and making, distributing and possession child pornography. In addition, two child victims have been identified during the investigation thus far.

On Thursday, Nathan Engler, 33, of Ottawa, appeared in the provincial court on Elgin Street charged with one count of possession of child pornography and one count distributing child pornography.

Adam Rizewiski, 27, of Ottawa, also appeared in court facing one count of possessing child pornography, one count of making available child pornography, and one count of possessing contraband cigarettes.

A 53-year-old Ottawa man, whose name is being withheld to protect the identity of one of the victims, has also been charged with two counts of possessing, two counts of distributing and one count of making child pornography.
